Buttermilk's Close-Ups

A while back, my friend Frank Sheeran was lamenting the miserable state of the pictures on my hamster page. Unlike so many of us, who are happy just to lie around and stew in our disgruntlements, Frank decided to do something about the problem. He took the pictures of Buttermilk on this page during the winter of 1997-98, when Buttermilk was about 8 months old. He says he learned a great lesson as a result: do not let the subject fill the entire photograph. Regardless, I think you all will agree that the pictures are quite good -- certainly better than most of the ones I have taken.

Here is Buttermilk in all his glory, with more fur than anyone knew what to do with.

Bath time. After Buttermilk got himself nice and clean, he had about 5 minutes to run around looking bewildered before it was time to take another bath.

Below, we find Buttermilk on a quest for food. He discovers a mysterious object, happening to resemble a peanut. What, exactly, is it? Some serious sniffing is in order.
