COURSE:   CS 381 Computer Graphics.

Prerequisites:   CS 202 and MATH 200X. Recommended: MATH 314.

Course Organization

The course covers 3-D computer graphics programming. Major topics are as follows.

Homework will be assigned, roughly weekly, primarily involving C++ programming.

Two in-class tests and a final exam will be given. Dates are listed below. The final will be comprehensive, emphasizing material covered after Test 2. Exams must be taken as scheduled except in extreme circumstances.  

 

Grades

Course grades will be based on points earned, using a 90-80-70-60 scale with values as follows.

Assignments (total)    300 pts
Test 1     50 pts
Test 2     50 pts
Final Exam    100 pts
TOTAL    500 pts

Programming assignments that following instructions exactly will be awarded 80% credit. In order to obtain full credit, students must add additional features to programs; guidelines and suggestions for this will be distributed with assignment descriptions. Full credit will not be given to homework that is turned in late.

Plagiarism (claiming another's work as your own) will result in a score of zero on the relevant exam or assignment, and may result in other penalties, including, but not limited to, an "F" in the course and a report to the University authorities.

Attendance

You are responsible for all material covered and announcements made during class, whether you are there or not. Work done during a missed class may be made up only if the following requirements are met.
