Work Information
- 1991-present: Biometrician for the Wildlife Conservation Division
of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. I act as a statistical
consultant on a wide variety of statistical methods for wildlife research
and management; and where I continue my statistical research interests. I
am also an adjunct professor of Statistics with the Mathematics Department
of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
- 1986-1991: Research Assistant, Department of Botany, Iowa State
University. I collected data and conducted research on pattern analysis
and developed spatial statistical models of 1) plant populations from
glade vegetation of the Ozark region of southeast Missouri, 2)
photographic images of vegetation from chalk grasslands, The Netherlands
and Germany, and 3) prairies in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. I
also assisted in grant writing.
- 1982-1986: Teaching Assistant, Departments of Biology, University
of Alaska, Fairbanks, and Botany, Iowa State University. I taught biology,
botany, and genetics labs.
- 1979-1982: Research Biologist; Chugach and Tongass National
Forests, Alaska; Denali National Park, Alaska; and Mt. St. Helens National
Monument, Washington. I collected and helped analyze ecological data on
plant communities and wildlife usage.
