The Chapman Computer Lab is located in Room 103 on the first floor of the Chapman building.
This lab consists of 20 workstations, one server, a printer, a scanner, and an overhead display system. In addition to providing authentication and authorization services for the lab, the server manages the students' use of the printer, and provides each student with 50 MB of on-site storage space. The overhead projector is connected to one of the workstations at the front of the room for in-lab instructional use.
Each workstation is set up so that students can boot into either Windows 2000 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 WS. A large array of software development tools is available on these machines, including various compilers, assemblers, and debugging software.
The workstations in the lab's back row are Dell Precision 370 n-Series, with 3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processors and dual-head PCI Express Quadro FX 1400 NV41GL graphics cards presenting a virtual 2560x1024 framebuffer.

Accounts in the Chapman Computer Lab are available upon request to any student that has paid the semester based lab fee. Lab fees are collected from students enrolled in any Computer Science or Statistics courses, as well as students enrolled in MATH 310 Numerical Analysis, MATH 460 Mathematical Modeling, and MATH 660 dvanced Mathematical Modeling. Students not taking one of these courses may voluntarily pay the semester based lab fee to obtain an account in the lab. Accounts expire, and are archived, after fee payment closes in the first fall or spring semester during which the student has not paid the semester based lab fee. Archived accounts are kept for up to one year as space permits. Upon request, arrangements can be made to provide students with a copy of their archived data.
